Circulation system
Pumps
A pump will control the water turnover rate (see above). The size of the pump required depends upon the size of your pool. Professional installation is advised.
Sumps
Most below ground pools are fitted with a sump drain which will take water from the bottom of the pool directly into the circulation system.
Automatic dosing and control
Control systems are available for continuous monitoring of disinfection and pH levels. Your pool dealer can advise you on the appropriate system for your needs.
Skimmers
Water from the surface of the pool flows into the skimmer and on to the pump. The skimmer removes undesirable surface pollution, so that it should be kept clean and free from debris.
Within most skimmer systems there is a debris/leaf basket. Skimmers are used to hold some types of disinfection product. For example, multifunctional tablets, chlorine tablets, Smart Sticks and Multilong canisters are all designed to be used in the skimmer basket (always following the instructions on the product).
